TAC JV Soccer Playoff Bound

Looking to avenge an earlier tough home loss to North Shore Hebrew Academy, TABC traveled to NSHA for a rematch, one vital to the impending playoff picture of both teams. With stifling pressure defense and solid goaltending neither team was able to capitalize on the many offensive opportunities in the first half. Both teams went into the second half scoreless.

Continuing with solid defense through the third quarter, TABC was finally able to break the stalemate with Calev Minsky (’15) dribbling and faking past two NSHA defenders and planting a solid strike past the NSHA goalie. But NSHA tied the game with four seconds left in the quarter.

The fourth quarter was more of the same, neither team being able to capitalize on the many offensive accelerations and penetrations, each attempt thwarted by clutch goaltending and strong defense. The tied score brought about a five-minute sudden death overtime. In the first two minutes of the overtime team period, Doni Kilminick (’14), on an indirect kick, found Ben Shelling by the left goal post who lower body-punched the ball past the NSHA goalie, this giving TABC a 2-1 victory.
