Tamar Stein, a sixth grade student at Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey, became a bat mitzvah on the 23 of Cheshvan, November 12. In honor of her bat mitzvah, Tamar organized a basketball tournament last August for the girls in her grade to raise money for Gan HaShekumi in Bait VaGan, Israel. Gan HaShekumi, where her cousin Amichai is a student, provides many different therapies for children including physical, occupational and speech. During the chagim, Tamar and her parents, Rebecca and Jason Stein of Bergenfield, went on a family trip to Israel. A highlight of the trip was a visit to the Gan where Tamar presented the donations to a very appreciative administration. Rebecca Stein said Tamar felt very proud of raising money to help Amichai and all the children at the school.
