Yom Ha’Atzmaut was a day of fun and learning for the kindergarten and first grade students at Tamim Academy NYC. The day started with a shuk for all the families, where the Tamim learners had an opportunity to sell some of their hand-made goods: name bracelets made especially for their family members, blue and white cupcakes, and Hebrew name plaques. All proceeds were donated to Tamim NYC’s sister school in Israel, Na’amat Tzalon. The Israel theme continued throughout the day including making Israeli salad, discovering places they have visited on a map of Israel, and touring the country to visit some very special cities. The Tamim NYC learners completed their Israel experience by building a Kotel and inserting within the bricks, their own notes they had written expressing their hopes, prayers and dreams.
