TBO 11u Headed to Championships

(TBO) George Clooney had his Ocean’s Eleven. Yul Brynner had his Magnificent Seven. Lee Marvin had his ragtag Dirty Dozen. But Teaneck’s amazing 10 players on this year’s Fall TBO 11u team beat them all. Finishing the regular season at 7-1, the Teaneck Ten have shown consistent improvement at the plate, on the mound and in the field. The group of 10 players, some of whom have played together and others who are newer to the team, came together in the late summer with unknown expectations. But through practices and subsequent games, these players grew in their skills and grew as a team.

Whether cheering from the dugout as Aharon Krohn slid into second for a stolen base or fist bumping Sam Kantowitz after he tagged a runner and threw out another for a double play, TBO 11u is in it to win and to have fun. The team has put up some remarkable hits from leadoff hitter Max Boim to center fielder Sammy Strulowitz. First baseman Jacob Kessler makes it difficult for runners to reach safely as he scoops up every ball thrown to him, and Gavriel Kravitz is always ready to tag out a runner at third. Fans have seen fantastic plays from Gabe Apter, who threw out a runner headed to second; second baseman Akiva Gaisin, who nailed a double play; and Gavi Aron, who shut down hitters as a relief pitcher. Shortstop Sammy Gilbert is always ready to throw out any runner, before he heads to the mound to close out games with his fastball. With coaches Eytan, David and Josh, the 11u team is headed to the championships this Sunday against Fort Lee. Good luck!
