Team Jewish Link of New Jersey’s (fourth-fifth grade division) Ben Chesner has been named TBO’s Player of the Week.
Chesner has been lighting it up as the team’s leadoff hitter this season, hitting safely in nearly half of his at-bats. On top of that, he has been on a blue streak on the basepaths, posing a persistent threat to steal a base. However, the greatest impact Chesner has made on his team comes in the form of the intangibles he brings to the field for each game.
“What has impressed me more than anything about Ben,” says coach Aaron Simon, “is the positive attitude he carries with him on the field and in the dugout. You can see that he’s sort of an inspiration to his teammates. He’s the first guy up cheering for each of his fellow players on every hit and celebrating with them over every run.”
