Teach NJS, the nonpartisan organization advocating for government funding in nonpublic schools, is pleased to welcome Jacqueline Kelly to its team. Kelly comes to Teach NJS from AIPAC, where she was the New Jersey associate director.

“We are beyond thrilled to welcome Jackie to the team,” said Teach NJS Executive Director Josh Caplan. “Jackie brings a wealth of experience in political mobilization, community engagement and the empowerment of lay leaders. As Teach NJS continues to mobilize grassroots activists and affect change across the state, we are excited to deepen our bench accordingly.”

Kelly is Caplan’s second major hire since Teach Advocacy Network hired him to lead its New Jersey division last year. She joins Teach NJS School Liaison and Event Coordinator Renee Klyman, who joined the team this fall. Klyman previously worked at Ma’ayanot High School supporting admissions, event coordination and communications. She has been instrumental in promoting the mission of Teach NJS throughout the state.

Teach NJS, part of Teach Advocacy Network, is supported by a collaboration of day schools, federations, synagogues, volunteers, communities and the Orthodox Union. It is coming off a year in which the state appropriated $40 million for nonpublic schools, a 42 percent increase since the organization’s inception in 2015. Teach NJS is focused this year on increasing government aid for security, technology and nursing services in nonpublic schools.

“It’s a tremendous privilege to join the team,” Kelly said. “Looking at what Teach NJS has done in a short period of time, it’s equally exciting to consider how much remains possible with the resources available. I look forward to getting to work and am deeply excited by the opportunities ahead.”
