Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization supporting women and families of all Jewish backgrounds facing breast cancer and ovarian cancer, participated in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Sunday, October 19, 2014. More than 300 women, men, and children joined Sharsheret in Central Park for the family-friendly walk.
The introduction of the new social media initiative at the race–#SharsheretSelfie–was a hit! Participants visited Sharsheret’s selfie photo booth and followed live updates on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
“Sharsheret is thriving because of the continued dedication and commitment of so many strong supporters, both locally and nationally,” said Team Captain Ellen Kleinhaus. “This year we are especially grateful to our Team Benefactor Bernstein Liebhard and the many sponsors and supporters. We deeply appreciate all the Team members and Team sponsors who came out in full force to walk with Team Sharsheret and continue to enable us to provide vital support to all Jewish women and families facing breast cancer and ovarian cancer.”
