There was a palpable excitement and energy filling the hallways of RKYHS as students participated in the Kushner Cup two-day event. Competing in two teams—koach and ruach—students were involved in a variety of skills, challenges and competitions as they vied for the Kushner Cup. Activities included intricate obstacle courses, college bowl, chess, gaga, dance competitions, post-it note creations, balloon arch building and so much more. A highlight was a blacklight dodgeball competition and an apache relay filled with challenges to complete.

The competition culminated with each team submitting the robotic car and “battle bot” robot they developed and their creations battleingthe other teams’ models. The whole school came together for the grand finale as each team presented the banners they created, screened videos they produced themselves and filled the auditorium with ruach in a “battle of the bands.”

At the end of the program, the whole school came together for a Lag B’Omer barbecue to close out the day—complete with a DJ and firepits!
