The children at Teaneck Chabad Preschool have been exploring a unit on “me and my family.” Together, they compared and contrasted what is the same and what is different about each person. They highlighted what is unique about each one as an individual, using a mirror to help identify some of the external similarities and differences. For example, the children observed that they all have eyes, but they are different colors; They all have noses, but they are different shapes and sizes. They learned that Hashem made each person in their own special way so each person can do their job of making the world a better place to live. The lesson concluded with each child doing a self-portrait.
