The Teaneck Community Chorus announces Teaneck Sings Week, January 16-24, 2016. Teaneck’s winter week of song kicks off with the annual Teaneck Teen Idol Competition. In its ninth year, the contest is more popular than ever. It showcases talented teenagers from Teaneck public and religious schools, as well Teaneck teens who attend the Frisch School and the Immaculate Heart Academy. Don’t miss this thrilling contest Saturday, January 16, 8 p.m., at Teaneck High School. The show will also feature a group number, plus the rare talent of our 2015 Teaneck Teen Idol, Kayla Harvey, from Teaneck High School.
TCC is once again honored to be participating in the Bergen County Martin Luther King Jr. celebration on January 18, 6:30 p.m., at Temple Emeth, 1666 Windsor Rd., Teaneck.
Teaneck Sings Week culminates with the chorus winter concert, 3 p.m., Sunday, January 24, at Teaneck High School: “We Shall Shine: A Concert for Women of the World.” This moving concert is funded in part by a grant from the Puffin Foundation and is inspired by the song “One Woman,” written for the 2013 United Nations International Women’s Day. The concert features rarely heard music from around the world that tells of women’s relationships, families, work, passions, joys and struggles. You’ll hear great music that connects us across continents, boundaries and genders. And of course, men are welcome!
Mark your calendars for January 16, 18, and 24 and hear how the Teaneck Community Chorus unites different people of all ages through the experience of song.
