Teaneck Doghouse Sportstar Of the Week: Jacklyn Weber

The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Teaneck Doghouse would like to recognize 9-year-old Jacklyn Weber as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The fourth grader at The Moriah School capped of the first week of the MGBL girls season with an overtime shot that sealed the victory for team Triumph Hotels with only a few seconds left in the game.

Jacklyn, congratulations on the big shot. Who is your role model and why?

My dad because he is kind, sweet and smart and great at basketball and a marvelous coach.

What is your favorite sport?

Basketball because I love playing the game.

What is your greatest sports accomplishment?

Hitting the winning shot in overtime with five seconds left.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

Tom Brady because he is the best quarterback of all time.

What is your pregame routine?

Listen to my coach, warm up by shooting and dribbling.

What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?

Drama and trampoline jumping.

What is the weirdest thing you witnessed on the court?

One time during a game, my shoes came off because someone stepped on the back and I had to go back to get it on the other side of the court.

What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?

I want to inspire other people.
