Teaneck Holocaust Committee Seeks Photos

Teaneck—For this year’s Yom HaShoah Commemoration, the Teaneck Holocaust Commemoration Committee is seeking to mount an exhibit of photographs of relatives of local residents who perished during the Holocaust. The photos will projected on the screen as the names of “Those We Have Lost” are read.

This year’s commemoration at Teaneck High School will take place on April 28th at 7:30 p.m. The event generally draws over 1000 people and is the largest single Jewish communal assembly in Bergen County. A particularly solemn part of the event is when the names of relatives of local residents who died during the Holocaust are read out loud while six survivors and their families light candles. This year, the committee would like to add a new visual dimension to the program by adding the victim’s photographs.

Photographs should be scanned at 300 dpi resolution and cropped to only include the photo—with no borders. They should be emailed to [email protected] no later than April 5th with the words Commemoration Photo in the subject line.
