Teaneck Mayor: Keep Teaneck Moving Forward

Teaneck needs strong, independent, nonpartisan leadership we can trust. As such, I am asking you to join me and vote for the reelection of Councilmember Keith Kaplan, Deputy Mayor Elie Katz and the election of their running mates Desiree Ramos-Reiner and Latisha Garcia.

The current Council has been one of the most productive in many years. Just some of the accomplishments have been:

The historic passage of plans for the expansion of Holy Name Medical Center

To work with Holy Name to create the first public-private collaboration to create a COVID vaccine center at the Rodda Center that delivered over 180,000 COVID vaccine doses.

To continue our yearly road repaving program and having the roads to be done each year listed on a map at our website

To commit to and approve the repairing of long ignored township infrastructure including the Rodda Community Center, Township office building, the band shell and library

To take back our 911 call center from the county, enhance its capability and at no cost to the taxpayer

To achieve stable taxes while enhancing services and maintaining an excellent bond rating

The cleaning up of our township code, long ignored and necessary

Computerizing the Building Department and Recreation Department to increase ease of use for our residents including taking payments online

To add improvements to our parks and recreation fields, including the addition of pickle ball courts

To be the first Council to propose and raise the Pride Flag annually, and the Juneteenth Flag annually

To insure our children have priority in the use of our sports fields

To create a yearly “Teaneck Day” including fireworks

To install numerous safety improvements on our roads and sidewalks

To encourage and assist our business community to grow

To approve smart development that has saved the township taxpayers more than six (6) additional tax points. Without these developments, either a severe cut in services or drastic increase in taxes would have been necessary

Responding to hundreds of calls, emails and texts of residents looking for help and answers

As you can see, this Council and our manager have kept their eyes on the current and future needs of our town for you, your children and those looking for a great town to move to and raise a family. The future though is in your hands. Do you want the experienced, forward thinking of the past several years … or not?

We know though there is more work ahead. Councilman Kaplan and Deputy Mayor Katz have earned the privilege to serve the Teaneck community for another term and to bring two new fresh, positive voices to the Council, Desiree Ramos Reiner and Latisha Garcia. These are our neighbors who will continue the nonpartisan, resident-focused leadership we need.

I urge you to vote for Councilmember Keith Kaplan, Deputy Mayor Elie Katz, and Desiree Ramos Reiner and Latisha Garcia for Teaneck Township Council.
