Installation is completed for the new outdoor fitness equipment at Brooks Park. After eagerly and patiently waiting for the installation of the fitness equipment to be completed, residents leaped at the chance to utilize the new hydraulic fitness equipment at Brooks Park, not far from Bryant School on Van Cortlandt Terrace and Intervale Road, just off of Tryon Avenue. The Township has been waiting for spring to arrive to have the equipment, located near the southwest area of the park, installed. Hydraulic stations include chin-up and dips, butterfly, squats, stepper, high pulley, arm combo and shoulder press. The equipment is geared for users 14 years and up, and easy-to-understand directions on how to use each machine are posted at each location. Turning the knob either way on each piece of equipment will increase or decrease the resistance on the machine for a tailor-made workout. Afterwards, feel free to walk or run around the ⅓-mile track around the beautiful park.
The Unbanix-brand equipment was purchased through Core Elements of Teaneck and was funded by the Bergen County Open Space Trust as well as the Municipal Open Space Trust. For further information, please contact the Recreation Department at 201-837-7130 or email us at [email protected].
