Teaneck Shuls Plan Community-Wide Yom Ha’atzmaut Celebration

The gala Teaneck community-wide celebration of Israel’s founding will take place at the Jewish Center of Teaneck, 70 Sterling Place, on Yom Ha’atzmaut, Wednesday, April 18, at 7:15 pm. Please note the change of venue from the previous year.

The evening will open with Mincha, followed by a Yom Hazikaron presentation from an Israeli soldier, and Maariv chagigit. It will continue in the JCOT social hall, which will be transformed into a shuk Yisraeli replete with Israeli food, music and experiential activities focusing on Israeli culture, geography and history. The evening will conclude in the sanctuary with a musical performance of shirei Eretz Yisrael—classic Israeli folk songs.

This event will be suitable for all adults and for children from sixth grade and up.

The following area synagogues have joined together to sponsor this special celebration: Congregations Beth Aaron, Beth Abraham, Bais Medrash of Bergenfield, Bnai Yeshurun, Jewish Center of Teaneck, Keter Torah, Netivot Shalom, Ohr Saadya, Rinat Yisrael, Shaare Tefillah, Shaarei Orah, Young Israel and Zichron Mordechai.
