Tenafly Chabad Academy

TCA students had an incredible time celebrating Israel this week. From the moment they arrived at the building, decorated in blue and white, the excitement was palpable. The festivities included a variety of activities, such as a carnival hosted by the eighth graders and Morah Etty, where the children decorated chamsas, sampled delicious Israeli foods and treats, and played fun Israel-themed games.

In addition, the lower school boys had a blast with Morah Sophia, participating in an intense boot camp in the gym that made them feel like they were serving in the Israeli army. Meanwhile, the lower school girls had rikkud (Israeli dancing) with Mrs. Katzwer and had a great time.

Middle school students enjoyed a special screening of parts of the movie “Operation Thunderbolt,” which tells the story of the heroic raid on Entebbe. Morah Sophia, who served in the Israeli army, and Morah Meital led an engaging discussion to provide context and help students deepen their understanding of the events.

The day also included a sweet note, with big blue and white cookies as a special treat for everyone. It was truly a fabulous day, filled with joy, learning and appreciation for Israel.
