Tenafly Chabad Academy’s deep and unwavering concern for our brothers and sisters in Israel is a constant presence in everyone’s hearts and minds. The entire school community is united in  dedication to support Israel, both in prayers and through meaningful actions.

The school’s commitment to supporting Israel is evident through various initiatives. In one remarkable instance, middle school students demonstrated their devotion by learning the entire book of Tehillim, pouring their hearts into this endeavor to offer spiritual support to Eretz Yisrael. This was a powerful testament to the strength of their collective resolve.

The school also came together as a whole to uplift their prayers and hopes for Israel through song. This communal outpouring of support was a profound moment of unity and shared purpose. In addition, students worked with Lubavitch on the Palisades to assemble supplies for the brave soldiers defending Israel, ensuring they felt the warmth and appreciation from across the ocean.

Expressing solidarity in the written word, all students composed heartfelt letters of support for the soldiers. These letters were hand-delivered to an army base by a recruit returning to Israel, ensuring that the sentiments reached those on the front lines.

Students participated with dozens of other middle school yeshivot from all across the county, to come together in tefillah, to recite Tehillim and deepen their understanding of the ongoing events in Israel. The middle school students engaged in open discussions in their history classes about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, delving into the historical context and the challenges faced by Israel since its inception.

Younger students also played their part by bringing home additional candles for Shabbat, symbolizing the collective mission to bring more light into the world and hasten an end to the conflict in Israel. These small gestures reflect the heartfelt empathy of even the youngest learners.

Rabbi Shain has consistently emphasized that support for Israel is not limited to words alone. Everyone can make a meaningful difference through tefillah, tzedaka and learning Torah. These meaningful actions can offer unwavering support to our brothers and sisters in Israel, providing both spiritual and tangible assistance during these challenging times.
