This week, eighth-grade social studies class embarked on an extraordinary virtual journey as they connected with Ariel, an inspirational chayal who grew up in the United States and is currently stationed in the West Bank. Ariel generously took a break from his guard duty to share his experiences with the eager students via Zoom.

In anticipation of this unique encounter, students meticulously formulated thought-provoking questions, which provided them with insights into Ariel’s life in the army and the undeniable challenges of serving during times of conflict. The students were captivated by his unwavering pride in serving in the IDF and his role in safeguarding Am Yisrael during a time of crisis.

Ariel’s revelations went beyond the rigors of military life, as he shared the heartwarming news that many kind-hearted individuals have been delivering an abundance of food and drinks to the soldiers. During the Zoom call, he even showed us the pizza and bottles of Coke enjoyed in the guardhouse, a delightful departure from the usual fare found on base.

Students were truly grateful for this conversation with Ariel, and they conveyed their heartfelt appreciation and support for his role in safeguarding Israel, sending him warm and sincere thank-you notes. Students continue to pray for the safety of all the soldiers and people of Israel.
