Fifth graders at Tenafly Chabad Academy have been learning about density.  After watching a few instructional videos, they had fun creating their own sensory/lava lamp bottles using oil, water and both water-based and oil-based food coloring. Through this activity, they discovered that oil is less dense than water, which is why it always floats to the top.What a great hands-on way to learn science.
