All students and staff in Tenafly Cha­bad Academy grades one through eight joined together for an assembly commemorating Yom Hazikaron. There were two short video presentations and they all stood for a siren honoring Israel’s fallen soldiers. The audience heard from featured speaker, Yair Klyman, a former lone soldier, who shared his experiences in the�Israeli Army.

The school then celebrated Israel Day with programming that took students “zooming” all around Israel. Each grade rotated through programs and hands-on fun with activities including floating eggs in salt water, making Israeli salad and home-made chummus, creating colored pinwheels in art, Israel dancing, Tzahal boot-camp and playing trivia games about Israel.
