Tenafly Chabad Academy’s partnership with CIJE (Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education) this year has enhanced and enriched its STEM curriculum in grades five through eight. The science, math and computer science staff attended a three day training course which CIJE offered this summer. There they learned new techniques to engage students and develop their thinking in STEM.

In STEM class, students have begun exploring CIJE activities. They are learning basic electronics and computer programming, and learning to problem solve. Using the Arduino app, students are having hands-on experiences in robotics-like building and automation.

These lessons are building blocks they can bring with them to STEM classes in high school. TCA is thrilled to have become CIJE members, and look forward to watching students grow and thrive in all STEM-related fields.
