Tenafly Chabad Academy Takes Flight

At Tenafly Chabad Academy, the second-grade class delved into an exciting science lesson exploring flight, drawing comparisons between the graceful flight of birds and the engineering marvels of airplanes. Through engaging activities, students grasped the three essential components necessary for flight—lift, thrust and drag.

After immersing themselves in readings and a captivating video on folding aerodynamic paper airplanes, second graders eagerly put their newfound knowledge into practice with a paper airplane contest. As they launched their meticulously crafted paper planes, it became evident that size and weight weren’t the decisive factors for success. The true champion emerged with a sleek design and precisely executed folds, soaring gracefully to claim the title for the longest flight.

Congratulations to all the competitors for their ingenuity and dedication!
