At Tenafly Chabad Academy our own Rabbi Lewis has crafted a poignant portrait that pays tribute to Edan Alexander, a 19-year-old former Tenafly resident who was tragically seized by Hamas as a hostage on October 7. Edan chose to serve in the IDF after graduating from high school in 2022, and was stationed near the Gaza border during the harrowing incident.

This heartfelt portrait is currently on display in the lobby, serving as a constant reminder of Edan’s bravery and the hope for his safe return. It has brought some comfort to Edan’s friends and family.

The entire community’s thoughts and prayers are fervently with Edan Ben Yael and all other individuals held in captivity, yearning for their swift and secure reunion with their loved ones.
