The upcoming Cross River Open on Sunday, May 26, will be a golden opportunity for tennis enthusiasts from throughout the greater tri-state Jewish community to gather and compete in the game they love. The inaugural event will feature both singles and doubles tournament play for both men and women and is expected to draw over 150 passionate and highly-skilled tennis players, representing a wide range of communities, including the Five Towns, Monsey, Lakewood, Brooklyn, the Upper West Side, Great Neck, Teaneck, Englewood and Queens.

This is the first time that the entire Billie Jean King National Tennis Center has been exclusively rented out for the Jewish community, with all games to be officiated by USTA officials and ball boys on-hand to assist with tournament play. All championship games, as well as top-level sponsor matches with French Open champion Luke Jensen, will be played in the Grandstand Stadium, one of the US Open’s premier stadium courts with seating for over 8,000 spectators.

The Cross River Open will also feature a VIP players lounge which will include a team of trained massage therapists, personal trainers, hydration specialists and medical care under the supervision of Dr. Ariel Nassim, a veteran medical consultant for the US Open and team physician of Maccabi USA. Throughout the day, players will have complimentary access to racket stringing and the Cross River Shoppes, exclusive boutiques featuring custom apparel and event memorabilia all given for free to participating players. Tennis fans of all ages will enjoy a mouth watering dairy lunch catered by Upper Crust of Cedarhurst, with children’s activities, interactive tennis experiences and entertainment provided throughout the afternoon.

Championship matches will be followed by the Grand Slam Foodie Experience, an exclusive banquet for fans and players to be held concurrent to the presentation of all awards and trophies. Cross River Open ticket holders will be able to enjoy the Grand Slam Foodie Experience.
