Our family would like to thank the innumerable members of the Bergenfield VAC and the fire and police departments who showed up and with impeccable professionalism handled a potentially catastrophic situation.
On Saturday, Aug. 26, three members of our family awoke from afternoon naps not feeling well. Seconds after 911 was called Neal Wigod was at our front door followed immediately by Ed Abramovitz. As it became clear that more than one person wasn’t well, the fire department, police department and additional BVAC members showed up. All BVAC members, under the guidance of Ryan Shell, whom we know to be a long-time dedicated member of the department, acted with confidence and efficiency, all the while showing gentle compassion and genuine concern.
Thank God, two family members are back to themselves and one is recovering. The generous selflessness of the wives and children of the dedicated members of BVAC is also worth noting. Apparently, many men ran out of Memorial Park as the call came in, leaving their wives to take care of their children and fill the Saturday afternoon without Daddy around. We feel extremely grateful to be living in a community where we all look out for each other.
K’siva v’chasima tova.
