I write in response to the article titled “Gender Identity and the Reshaping of Genesis Pedagogy” (January 18, 2024).
In a world full of lies and darkness, I can confidently say there is only one absolute; that is God and His Torah. When our Jewish academic institutions begin to distort fundamental truths in the Torah and try to bend it to accommodate the latest trend in a leftist, woke world that denies Truth, we face a huge problem as a nation. Empowering all students and allowing each of them to take part in conversations about Torah does not equate with distorting the Absolute Truth to fit the ideologies of your classroom students. God created man and woman. Two genders, each one an individual. To allow a young mind to distort the Torah to fit a mindset that is against an Absolute Truth is appalling, misleading and wrong. As educators of Torah, we encourage questions as we guide children towards the Truth. We don’t normalize untruths. We don’t promote essays and books in a Jewish high school classroom written by a person who has his own personal issues to deal with regarding his own gender and clearly has a distorted lens towards Torah.
Dr. Jacobowitz, I am grateful that you wrote this as it guides me towards the Absolute Truth.
