As soon as the girls walked into school this past week, Bruriah was getting into Kislev mode! Rosh Chodesh Kislev celebrations were kicked off by decorating the halls with creative chanukah decorations and eating yummy donuts, sponsored by the Sheffey family. The students enjoyed a special program called “Laughter Yoga,” designed to give the girls a break from school work and laugh a little! The special program offered was a definite hit, as the entire room was filled with smiles. As 11th grader Mayana Rottenstreich said, “The Rosh Chodesh Kislev program was both entertaining and funny! It brought smiles to the faces of everyone who participated.” Finally, the Rosh Chodesh Kislev festivities ended off with an amazing Niggun Lishma, a program where the girls were able to have a beautiful and socially distant kumzitz, led by seniors Aliza Walzman and Mindy Benovitz. There were words of inspiration from Bruriah teacher and known lecturer, Mrs. Yael Kaisman, and delicious cholent was served to complete the week! Chodesh Kislev has just begun but Bruriah students are all already ‘lit’ up and eager for Chanukah.
