The Cheese Guy Wins in Two Categories at Kosherfest’s Annual New Products Competition

The Cheese Guy won in two categories at the recent Kosherfest New Products Competition, held in Manhattan earlier this month. The Cheese Guy’s Double Ale Cheddar Cheese won in the Best Dairy/Cheese category, and its Heirloom Vermont Apple and Maple Syrup Butter won in the Best Jams/Preserves and Dried Fruit category, from among much competition.

“We are delighted to have won this award and recognition in not just one but two categories for our new products. We are seeking to bring the best quality products to market, for the discriminating kosher consumer, in addition to the general market,” said The Cheese Guy’s Brent Delman, founder and president of the company.

The Cheese Guy produces artisanal cheeses that are all-natural, hormone free, OU-D certified and made with sustainable dairy farming practices. Its jams, preserves and butters are all natural, gluten- and sodium-free, and vegan.

Overall, hundreds of products in more than 15 categories were submitted into the competition, which will also be on display at Kosherfest, the largest kosher food industry trade show being held this year on November 10-11 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, NJ.

Kosherfest’s Annual New Products Competition included a prestigious panel of judges: Guest Judge Jamie Geller (Joy of Kosher), Yakov M. Yarmove (NAI/Jewel-Osco), Marty Stein (Tree of Life, KeHE Foods Company), Joel Schoenfeld (Evergreen) and Gitel Leibler (Quality Frozen Foods).

Founded in 2007 by Brent Delman, The Cheese Guy is a specialty cheese producer and affineur (one who ages cheese) of vegetarian, artisan, family farm, kosher (and many organic) cheeses. The company is headquartered in Westchester, New York, and the cheeses are produced on small family-owned farms and creameries primarily in the U.S.—New York, Vermont and Ohio, as well as internationally in Italy, Argentina and Israel.
