The Excitement Never Stops at Camp Shalom

Wow! The summer of fun is flying by. How is it already the fourth week? The entire camp showed their love for Israel on Blue and White Day and their silly spirit on Wacky Wednesday. Travel bunks roared in the crowd at a Rockland Boulders baseball game. Back at camp, campers created tie dye and sticky slime, learned to build fire pits and decorated animal cupcakes. Campers and counselors indulged in hot dogs and hamburgers after participating in a special siyum for the nine days. As the week wound down, the Shlishi Travel campers turned their attention outward. The girls created pillows for children with special needs and care packages for the homeless. The Travel boys were treated to a “tour” of the Teaneck eruv with Rabbi Taubes and a shiur explaining how the eruv works. To wrap up the week, author Lisa Lesnick read her book “The Shabbos Squabble” to Rishon while the other divisions wound the week down with a kumzitz-style oneg. Everyone is so excited for second month and the new adventures that are still to come!
