In one of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s famous speeches, he said, “Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.”
The Hamas rocket attacks on the cities of Israel, however, are even worse. While the Japanese attack focused entirely on the United States military, the Hamas rockets are aimed at the civilian population areas of Israel.
The key question is how would President Roosevelt have responded to a call for a cease-fire a few days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the deaths of American servicemen?
