New owners for The Humble Toast And La Cucina di Nava in Teaneck.

As of Thursday of this week, Sept. 1, The Humble Toast and La Cucina di Nava are officially under new ownership, purchased by a group of investors from previous owner Shalom Yehudiel.

The Rabbinical Council of Bergen County (RCBC) put out a statement approving the change of ownership and indicating its continued kashrut supervision of both restaurants: “Please note that The Humble Toast and La Cucina Di Nava are under new ownership. The new owner has entered into a contract with the RCBC to provide kosher supervision which is effective immediately. We encourage the community to support all local merchants.”

The kashrut contracts were set to expire for The Humble Toast and La Cucina di Nava, in October 2022 and January 2023 respectively, and the RCBC was not planning to renew. The new ownership assured The Jewish Link that the “previous owner will have nothing to do with the restaurants’ operation and will get no proceeds from sales going further.”

The new owners also shared that menus for both popular eateries will remain the same. Loyal customers can now celebrate the return of the innovative and tasty food they know and love—Queen Anne fries, anyone?

Both restaurants will also maintain the same managerial and wait staff so customers can be assured of a smooth, comfortable dining experience, with knowledgeable staff who know their jobs well. There are some minor renovations planned that will serve to enhance the current spaces. Customer feedback is welcomed and encouraged.

In anticipation of the excitement surrounding this news, both restaurants will be offering extended hours. Reservations can be made online and are recommended to ensure seating availability. Customers can also place orders online at www.thehumbletoast.com  and www.lcdnava.com  for pickup and delivery. They offer UberEats, DoorDash and Grubhub as well.
