The Humble Toast Sportstar Of the Week: Ari Field

The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Ari Field as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey fifth grader was the goalie for the TABC Jr. Hockey Division Champion Golden Knights team this past season. During the regular season, he gave up only five goals, leading his team to an undefeated season. The success continued in the playoffs as the Golden Knights won the championship to complete a perfect season and Ari was named a first line All-Star, leading them to win the championship.

When asked about Ari, his brother and coach Zach told the Jewish Link: “Ari is one of those players who pushes himself to the limit on and off the court. He always wants to better himself as a person and improve as an athlete. Ari is very dedicated to what he does and always pushes his teammates to be better, too. I’m so proud of how far Ari has come as a goalie since first starting out just two years ago.”

TABC Jr. Hockey Commissioner Tzvika Paleyeff added “Ari is an incredible goalie. We have seen him grow up over the years. He is always willing to help us out if we need a sub, he even played a few games last season in the Sr. League. In his quiet, composed way, he always plays amazingly between the pipes and with tremendous middos. We hope to continue to see him prosper on and off the court.”

Ari, congratulations on the perfect season and on being recognized as this week’s sportstar of the week. Who is your role model and why?

My brother Zach is my role model, because he is my hockey coach and taught me everything I know about being a goalie. He is also a great all-around athlete.

What is your favorite sport?

My favorite sport is hockey, because it is a fast-paced, low-scoring game, and that makes it exciting.

What is your earliest sports memory?

My earliest sports memory has to be scoring my first basket in the basketball hoop in my driveway at age four.

What is your greatest sports accomplishment?

My greatest sports accomplishment was winning the TABC Jr. Hockey league junior division fall 2024 championship after a perfect season.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

Jack Hughes is my favorite athlete because he’s a great hockey player and he’s Jewish, too!

What is your pregame routine?

For hockey, I practice my goalie stance and have my teammates shoot off me. For football and baseball, I have a catch before the game.

What is your funniest sports memory?

My funniest sports memory is when I predicted a Mets walk-off home run, and my brother Mattis went crazy with excitement and freaked out my dog.

What do you like to do when you are not playing sports?

When I’m not playing sports, my favorite thing to do is play video games with my friends.

What is your favorite sports moment?

My favorite sports memory is running the bases at Citi Field after my first Mets game.

What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?

The best thing about being a Sportstar is being recognized in The Jewish Link.
