The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Ezra Adams as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey eighth grader is coming off a legendary middle school career. Helping the RYNJ Jaguars capture their first ever eighth grade YMSSA and HALB tournament championships. When asked about his HALB Tournament all-star Coach Eli Wolk told The Jewish Link, “Ezra is an extremely talented player, but way importantly, a true mensch. He leads by example, not only with his scoring, but rebounding and defense. Ezra strives to be the best player he can, always looking to improve his skills. He has grown into a leader both on and off the court, and as a coach, you can ask for nothing more. Ezra helped us win two championships, including RYNJ’s first ever eighth grade boys championship. He was a real pleasure to coach!” RYNJ Principal Rabbi Avi Bernstein added, “Some would say that an MVP who hit his last two free throws to win the championship has ice in his veins. Ezra, though, is anything but cold—he is a player and soul on fire. He is always driven to be the best leader, teammate and Jew he can be, and is always humble about it. He is the quintessential MVP.”

My father because he has always supported me in every area of my life (and he’s pretty cool for an old guy.)

Basketball because I’ve always been good at it.
What is your greatest sports accomplishment?
Hard to pick one but it has to be winning the YMSSA eighth grade boys championship game this year.
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
Jalen Brunson, because of his style, and I’ve always been a big Knicks fan.
What is your earliest sports memory?
Playing mini ball in my room.
What is your favorite sports memoryl?
Down one, with five seconds left in the eighth grade championship game, I got fouled and made both free throws to put us up one and we went on to win.

Hanging out with my friends.
What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?
Getting to learn from an amazing coach like Coach Wolk (and Coach Kravitz) and sharing so many memories with my friends.
