The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Ezra Barzideh as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The Yeshivat He’Atid seventh grader was a dominant force for the He’Atid Hurricanes basketball team this past season. When asked about his starting center, Hurricanes head coach Aaron Neufeld told the Jewish Link “Ezra Barzideh has been the heart and soul of our basketball team from the moment he stepped onto the court. His leadership is unmatched, and his relentless drive to win inspires everyone around him. Whether it’s bringing the ball up under pressure, grabbing a clutch rebound or making the big play when it matters most, Ezra consistently delivers. His versatility and effort week in and week out are the foundation of our success. Not only is he our leading scorer, but he’s also our leading rebounder, a combination that speaks volumes about his work ethic and dedication to every aspect of the game. That, more than anything, impresses me the most. He’s the player who does whatever it takes—diving for loose balls, setting the tone on defense or hitting a crucial shot in crunch time. Ezra doesn’t just play the game, he elevates everyone else on the court. His presence is the difference maker, and our team’s success is a direct reflection of his determination and passion.”
