The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Julie Kahane as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The eighth grader at Yeshivat He’atid scored the first goal for this year’s He’Atid Hurricanes girls soccer team, enroute to their season opening victory. When asked about Julie, Hurricanes girls soccer coach Ari Wolf told The Jewish Link, “I have been coaching Julie since sixth grade and I have always been impressed by her determination and dedication to the team. Not only is she a fantastic player but her positive and team focused attitude are a tremendous asset to the team. The entire team will miss her next year!”

What is your pregame routine?
My pregame routine is that I stretch and then I shoot and warm up.

I was about 8 years old and I was dribbling up to the goal and I shot but instead of the ball going into the net, my shoe did.
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?
My favorite thing to do when I am not playing sports is hanging out with my friends, playing piano and watching movies and shows.
What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?
The best thing about being a Sportstar is feeling good about yourself after playing a good game. It is very rewarding feeling when people congratulate you and tell you that you played well.
