The Humble Toast Sportstar of the Week: Kai Shoshany

The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Kai Shoshany as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The 9-year-old, third grader at The Moriah School is an avid soccer player and will be starting BCFL next month.

Kai, happy belated birthday and congrats on being recognized as this week’s Sportstar of the Week! Who are your role models and why?

My role models are my parents and my soccer coach. My parents are my role models because my mom always teaches me to feel confident before heading into my games and my dad teaches me how to play soccer and what the best format is. My other role model is my soccer coach because he shows me the best positions to play in the game.

What is your favorite sport?

My favorite sport is soccer after watching my dad always play in his league. I loved watching and then playing with my friends and then joining my own league at Ayso United.

What is your pregame routine?

My pregame routine is practicing my kicks before the game starts.

What is your greatest sports accomplishment?

My greatest sports accomplishment is when I scored a goal which was the winning goal in the game. I felt so proud of myself.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

My favorite soccer player is Messi because he scores the most goals and runs really fast.

What is your earliest sports memory?

When I was very little I would kick the soccer ball against the wall and I liked watching it roll from me to the wall.

What is your funniest sports memory?

A funny memory is when my friends and I were playing soccer in the rain and we all slipped and fell. We all laughed for a long time.

What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?

When I’m not playing sports I like to relax with my family and friends.

What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?

The best part about being a sportstar is winning but if I lose I know I will make it up next time.

The Humble Toast Star of the week will receive a $25 gift card to The Humble Toast. Please send nominees for an upcoming The Humble Toast Jewish Link Stars of the Week to [email protected].
