The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Noah Chesner as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The 11-year-old fifth grader at Yeshivat Noam joined the CMEK boys grade five star-studded AAU team this past fall and made his presence felt when it mattered most with a game-high 21 points in the championship. When asked about Noah, Chad Meckles of CMEK told The Jewish Link, “Noah has always been a solid contributor off the bench and had been consistent in starring in his role over our 15 game winning streak, which includes two championships. He’s been patient in accepting a reserve role even though he’s one of the best players in his grade in the county. Nowadays, you’d see kids quit and switch teams instead of working hard to earn more playing time. In the championship game, he erupted for a game-high 21 points and showed his three-level scoring abilities. He finished at the rim, drilled mid-range jumpers and nailed 3-pointers. I think he scored 12 consecutive points to break open a close game.”
