The Humble Toast Sportstar of the Week: Paul Falkenstein

The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Paul Falkenstein as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The 10 year old student at the Westchester Torah Academy leads the New Jersey youth hockey league in goals and points. Falkenstein is a great teammate, always gets players on the ice with him involved in the play and is just as interested in assisting a goal than scoring one himself. A spectator told The Jewish Link, “Paul has the unique ability to see the play develop and is always one step ahead of the defense. More remarkable is that despite his success never wants the spotlight and is therefore an ideal teammate.”

Paul, congrats on being recognized as this week’s Sportstar of the Week! Who are your role models and why?

My dad. He played hockey and I want to be just like him.

My biggest hockey accomplishment is scoring the game winning goal for my team the NJ Avalanche in both the semifinals and finals, leading my team in winning the March Madness Ice Hockey tournament in Massachusetts.

Who is your favorite athlete and why?

My favorite athlete is Jack Hughes because he is a great hockey player and leader on and off the ice and I that is what I want to be.

What is your favorite sports memory?

My favorite sports memory is when my dad took me to game seven Devils vs. Rangers and the Devils won 4-0!

What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?

My favorite thing to do when not playing sports is talking with my dad about hockey, watching Devils games, and playing sports video games on Playstation.

What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?

The best thing about being a Sportstar is letting people know more about ice hockey and my passion for it.
