The Jewish Link and The Humble Toast would like to recognize Sammy Spier as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The third grader at Ben Porat Yosef is one of the players on the Bergen Broncos third grade team. Sammy’s leadership on the court has proven integral to the current success of the team as it is preparing to enter into a deep playoff run and a quest for a championship. This past winter, Sammy’s point guard play on the court helped lead the Broncos to the NJBBL third grade army championship while playing as an all second grade team. Sammy’s mom told The Jewish Link that, “Sammy loves when his grandparents come to his games and feels very lucky that, thank God, they live close by and come to almost every game!”
