The Ice Hockey Hurricanes Continue to Dominate

The Hurricanes got off to a great start earlier this week as they took on the Kings in a Floyd Hall Arena Spring League Metro division matchup. The Hurricanes’ Chaim Cohen scored 27 seconds into the game. Eli Schiff then scored before Patrick Biernat scored for the Kings on an assist from Nicholas Polimeni. The Hurricanes then took over, with the next four goals scored by Avraham Gellman, Colin Mauer, Joshua Lando and Aaron Teitelbaum. Antonio Dimola scored for the Kings with 37 seconds left in the period to make it 6-2 after the first period, but that would wind up to be their final goal of the game. The Hurricanes then scored two goals in the second period, by Yosef Teitelbaum and Eli Spinowitz, and another three goals in the third by Teitelbaum, Lando and Boruch Shmulkler Karpov— who also finished with two assists in the 11-2 rout. Spinowitz also had two assists as did Schiff, Gellman and Avinoam Wizman. The Hurricanes get back on the ice the following week with a rematch vs. Pascack Valley.

Over in the Atlantic Division, Cougar Nation topped Pearl River 5-4 as Noah Petak converted a Jake Fromen rebound just as time expired. It was a back and forth affair as the Fromen-Aryeh Bloom tandem had a big day on the score sheet in the thrilling win. Isaac Markovitz and Jack Morgolius also scored and Gabriel Rosenblatt, Jack Fischer, Judah Volodarsy and Jacob Weissman all picked up assists. Next up for Cougar Nation is a Century Road rematch against Paramus.
