The Idea School Creates Digital Exhibit for Yom HaShoah

On March 2, The Idea School students began work on an exhibit for Yom HaShoah, which was supposed to have been displayed both at the Teaneck public library and at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades. When the school moved to remote operations due to the COVID-19 concern, students and faculty decided to continue their work and exhibit the project digitally which can now be viewed on their website. During this third trimester, freshmen at The Idea School are studying how people come to make ethical decisions, and sophomores, how people might build a better world. For Yom HaShoah, students researched those courageous enough to oppose the Nazis and to make the difficult but ethical decision not to surrender to the Nazis’ terror and iniquity. The students also researched those Nazis who were tried at Nuremberg and saw how the revolutionary idea of the trials played out: that countries could come together to enforce the rule of law and create a more just and better world.
