The Idea School commemorated the second yahrzeit of the passing of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, zt”l by participating in the Global Day of Learning in his memory. The Idea School joined together with many other schools around the world to study his teachings and the large impact he has had on the global community. Twefth graders, who learned Rabbi Sacks’ book, “A Letter in the Scroll,” and created a website with useful resources about it, shared their learning with ninth and 10th graders and debated Rabbi Sacks’ question on whether Torah is a gift or an obligation. Eleventh graders delved into Sefer Bereishit and analyzed some of its stories using Rabbi Sacks’ interpretation of them in his book, “To Heal A Fractured World.”
