Continuing with the festivities of Adar, The Idea School held its first ever color war! Each grade, bearing its own team color, competed in classic Idea School challenges that tied back to each teams’ themes of Kindness, Truth, Justice and Peace. Students could not wait to dive into all the fun activities and challenges that are so unique to The Idea School. Just a few examples included decorating rooms, Maker Space and domino challenges, Minute-to-Win-It competitions, writing songs and poems, playing sports, creating cool Minecraft worlds and writing divrei Torah. The team’s beautiful themed artwork were painted ceiling tiles that each grade created according to their themes and that will now hang in the school hallway at the JCC. A highlight of the challenges was the aMAZAing race competition. Created by humanities teacher Edward Maza, students were found all over the JCC, making artwork, building snowmen, doing whiteboard doodles not to mention writing songs, making videos and taking photos with the beloved JCC staff. The students are already planning for another incredible color war next year.
