This past Sunday, The Idea School’s Head of STEM Aryeh Laufer and Executive Director Tamara Levin got The Idea School and the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades off to a great start for Chanukah with their second STEAM and Chagim program launching “Chanucadekkah”—a Chanukah themed arcade experience. Guests came to learn about Chanukah through STEAM in an interactive and fun environment. Every arcade game on display was designed and created in The Idea School’s maker space by 11th and 12th grade engineering students. STEAM and Chagim is a joint program between The Idea School and the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades. The program aims to bring people of all ages together, who celebrate the Jewish holidays, to engage in educational and interactive activities based on concepts of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math). The next Steam and Chagim event will be in the spring for the holiday of Purim.
