On Thursday, June 4, at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, The Idea School held its third and final Exhibition of Student Learning of the 2018-2019 school year. Students presented their work to a record number of guests which included parents, incoming students as well as many community friends. Among the key highlights from this semester’s storytelling unit were students presenting their own family history on a Lukasa (an oral storytelling device used by the Luba peoples of the Congo), websites that the students built based on their family story and a reading garden that the students and faculty revitalized to create an inspiring storytelling venue for all to enjoy.
