(Courtesy of The Idea School) The Idea School and Institute recently held its annual Dinner Gala at the beautiful Temple Emanu-El in Closter. The school was proud to honor its founding members Rebecca and Isaac Glasman, parents of Ezra, one of inaugural graduates of The Idea School who also emceed the event. Rebecca and Isaac have been, and continue to be, instrumental in building The Idea School and champions of its mission. The school also honored Chris Parrilli, the JCC’s facilities manager, for all his hard work and dedication to helping the school run smoothly on a day to day basis. Senior students were in attendance and also helped run aspects of the event. The Idea School was also honored to welcome special guests Jerri-Ann and Gary Jacobs, founders of the High-Tech-High Schools in San Diego, California, whose educational model of Project-Based Learning is the basis for The Idea School. Gary spoke of the importance of teaching real-world skills in a high school setting and allowing the students to discover and own their own passion for learning.
