(Courtesy of JLE) Why not worry about someone else’s teshuva this year?
The Jewish Learning Experience of Bergen County (JLE) encourages you, dear reader, to check in with your Jewish non-religious relatives, neighbors, coworkers and friends in advance of the Jewish New Year. Be our shaliach in the simplest way: ask them if they have a service to attend on the High Holidays. Ask them if they would like to attend one.
The JLE offers slower-paced, understandable services for lesser-affiliated Jews. We provide the forum and the non-judgmental, warm, welcoming atmosphere. You partner with us by referring Jews who might otherwise be undecided or discouraged and miss the High Holidays altogether. Often, a lesser-affiliated Jew is on the fence and just needs the helpful push in the right direction. Please look around and see who can benefit from your caring inquiry and our program!
JLE High Holiday services are completely free, although donations are always welcomed. Only a reservation is required. No prior knowledge of Hebrew or prayers is necessary.
Rosh Hashanah morning services will be held on Shabbat, Sept.16 and Sunday, Sept. 17. Both services will be followed by a kiddush. Yom Kippur services will be held on Sunday evening, Sept. 24 (Kol Nidre) and Monday morning, Sept. 25, which will include yizkor for anyone who has a deceased parent.
Reservations can be made by contacting Rabbi Jesse Shore at [email protected] or 610-329-2953. All services will be held at Torah Academy of Bergen County in Teaneck at 1600 Queen Anne Road.
Founded in 1986, the Jewish Learning Experience of Bergen County (JLE) is dedicated to helping Jews who are looking for more meaning or religious practice in their lives.
