The American Instructional Football League has been in existence for several years all across the country, but recently announced the creation of the The Bergen County Flag Football League.
September 15th through late December 2013, the league will have games every hour on sundays from nine am to six thirty pm at Overpeck County Park Football Stadium (located at the Palisades Park Sports Complex, Roosevelt Street, Palisades Park, NJ 07650).
The season will also provide families a fun festival type experience of barbecues, music, and other fun athletic events, every Sunday to enjoy. According to the leagues press release “ the unique feature of this league, that cannot be found elsewhere, is the incorporation of speed and football movement training, for every player and coach who participates.” Bergen County Parks Director, Ron Kistner says “A program as comprehensive as this one, which provides a safe and fun way to play the
game of football is well overdue in Bergen County.”
All players will receive: An official NFL Flag Jersey, flags & belts, skill instruction, a skill combine testing day, and a minimum of 8 weeks of official games.
The league is a five on five non contact league, open to boys and girls k-8.
