Party politics, the idolatry of our time, is a product of culture wars that have been ongoing for at least 3,800 years. This is when the first Jew, Avraham Avinu, refused to bow down before King Nimrod’s idol, for which he was thrown into a fiery furnace.
The king, of course, knew that an idol of gold and silver cannot cause the heavens to rain nor the fields to grow. Idol worship was his way of gaining power over the people. The idolatry of today has taken a different form—actually two forms—Democrat and Republican. Although both derive their titles from our system of government—a democratic republic—neither adhere to its fundamental principle, to “secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”
Every voter can easily verify this by calling their favorite Democrat or Republican in Congress, at 202-224-3121, and ask why they will not sign onto the Education Freedom Accounts Act (S.2455/H.R.4426)—a bill that will secure the blessings of liberty for the people of our nation’s capital and serve as a model and trailblazer for the 49 states that still deny parents their human and civil right to educate their children without undue government intrusion.
The party system is the idolatry of our time and serves to empower and enrich those at the top. We can restore our government to a true democratic republic by replacing all who refuse to support liberty, with upright citizens who don’t worship today’s idols and do support liberty.
