The Shefa Center Visits the Bialik School in Toronto

Dr. Yoni Schwab, founding assistant head of school at The Shefa School, and Jennifer Gensior, director of Middle School Curriculum, visited the Bialik School in Toronto to teach parents and teachers how to support students with ADHD and executive functioning challenges. Over 75 parents attended Dr. Schwab’s presentation about the history and science behind ADHD and how to support them at home. He fielded dozens of questions from parents, many of whom stayed long after the presentation to ask more and hear more suggestions.

The next day, Dr. Schwab and Ms. Gensior presented about executive functioning to 150 faculty from pre-k to eighth grade and then worked with them in smaller groups to identify and plan for the effective implementation of strategies designed to help students facing both attentional and organizational struggles. This was the Shefa Center’s second trip to Toronto to work with the Bialik School, and their collaboration will continue with a school visit to Shefa in New York in January. Kudos to the Bialik School for doing the hard work to help all of their students succeed!
